We girls love to dress up and look pretty, right? Correct! But doesn't it suck when people that are skinny average or fat always have to be judged on what they wear. Like when we wear shorts dress or skinny jeans. We're either too fat to wear shorts/skirts to skinny to wear beautiful dress and I don't think that is fair at all. All girls deserve to feel or even look beautiful besides it's what's inside that counts. According to The beauty of the venture is that we stand to lose nothing (2009) beauty is a quality or feature that is most effective, gratifying, or telling (p.n.d). So girls stay strong and have confidence in yourself! Who cares what other people think, just live your life and worry about yourself.

This is a blog about how difficult it is to live in society today as an adolescent female. With all the insecurities that girls have these days and how society portrays celebrities as the perfect image when in reality that is not the case, because no one is perfect. Girls shouldn't change their ways for anyone.

What is Ms.Aguilera trying to say here in this video? She’s saying that regardless who you are, what you practice, how you look, or whatever the case may be that you're beautiful. And this doesn’t just apply to female teens it applies to each gender, everyone is beautiful in their own way and the words that people say about you shouldn’t determine your character or who you are because it’s wrong, no one has the place to judge anyone. No one is perfect and everyone has their flaws that they should embrace and not be ashamed of. And that's one of teen’s main insecurities now a days, they feel they aren’t good enough. Some females may think they’re not pretty enough and some males may feel they aren’t tough enough and it’s not fair. But we should all remember. . .
“Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, feel so ashamed
I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today”,(eLyrics,Christina Aguilar 2000-2012)

Insecurity: Acne
Teen acne is very stressful. having to deal with pimples is hard. Some kids (like myself) are very insecure because of acne. they feel as if they are ugly. (I get this from personal experiences) Sometimes it leads into lack of self-confidence. Or maybe, if you have self-confidence and it is lowered because you have acne. (Readers Respond: The Worst Thing About Having Teen Acne Is..., 2012) Sometimes people (particularly teens) are teased because they have acne. Our society judges people on what they look like and no their personality. So what if someone has acne? What? Suddenly you don't like a person because they have acne. Usually the bullies are insecure themselves and pick on people because of their acne, weight, etc. (Readers Respond: The Worst Thing About Having Teen Acne Is..., 2012)
We all listen to music right? According to Ajanta Bhattacharyya (Different Music Genres, 2011, p.n.d.) All different kinds especially according to there are nine genre’s that are mostly listened to. The point is, is that now teens are being judged on the music they listen to say like if they listen to screamo, or alternative they’re “emo”. Of if they listen to rap & hip hop they’re “ghetto” and many more. This is why girls don't feel confident enough in what they’re doing, listening to & more. How there always has to be a label put on them which isn't fair at all. Music is an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color according to Random House, Inc. (2012, p.d.) Music helps us express who we really are it and how we feel as a person. Music inspires us and pushes us to expect and do great things.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and just felt like you wasn’t good enough? Or do you ever walk out the house feeling on top of the world and just so happen to have those friends you hang around who are drop dead gorgeous and then when you stand next to them you feel like you're a grizzly bear? Do you ever feel the feeling of envy? To be envious means to have a feeling of anger or jealousy and that's a HUGE problem for our generation now a days. Like let’s say you have a boyfriend/ girlfriend, when someone you feel is more appealing than you talks to them, you begin to feel envious.. why ? Because you're insecure about yourself and jealous of the other person’s beauty."Love sees sharply; hatred sees even more sharp. But jealousy sees the sharpest -- for it is love and hate at the same time." (Girl Chase, 2012 ) Basically what that quote is saying is that though love and hate are both strong, jealousy is stronger because its a mixture of both.
Insecure. What does it mean to be insecure, because everyone else has a different definition for it? It means to fear, have doubts, and ect (Random House Dictionary, 2012 ) Insecurity is usually related to someone who doesn't have self-confidence. But why are people so insecure ? Why don’t people feel good enough? Simply because of society and celebrities. Why should females have to be skinny to be considered beautiful? For example, no one should have to look anorexic to be beautiful, even Vogue magazine agrees. Vogue has banned too skinny models from being in their magazines because young girls look at their magazines and figure in order to be beautiful they have to look like the girls in the magazine (Newser, 2012), yet why are people insecure? This is also cause by having a low self-esteem. Self- esteem is the degree to which one values oneself. (Roger Elliott) Some people feel like they don’t belong because they do not look like the latest celebrities and what society expects them to be. This also leads to the lacking of self confidence- Assuredness and self reliance.(Roger Elliott) Some people are bullied which makes them feel like their self image is not good enough for anyone. self image - One’s impression of oneself, unconscious. A best friend is your weekend goes-without-saying lunch date, someone with whom it is implied you will spend the day or at least an hour. (Rachel Bertsche,MWF Seeking BFF,2010) for example always be by your side no matter what, make you smile during your hardest times, love you always especially when you need it and someone you can totally trust right? Yes, but as best friends there's always a little jealousy or insecurity. Say like your best friend is gorgeous and gets all the guys and you’re just eh and unsocial, not out of your shell. Or she has the perfect body, hair, smile, etc that everyone is to die for. But that’s not fair I mean you have hair, a body, and a smile. It may not be perfect but it’s unique it’s YOU and out there they are people who love that body, smile, and hair. If you can’t find anyone who likes you for you and rather be with someone with flawless looks than that’s their problem not yours because you wouldn’t want to be spending your time on an ignorant boy. Instead you would be with someone or liked as a person by just being yourself and real I mean no one likes anything fake. Your hair, smile, body is all natural and perfect that’s what makes you you. We’re all perfectly imperfect God made us all in our own way that’s what makes us all special. So remember you don’t have to compete with your best friend, someone you love just to feel perfect nor amazing about yourself. You are beautiful, you are unique, you are YOU.

You know, everyday I go to school and I’ve come to notice, society likes to judge others because they’re different. Yet, why should it matter if one person is unique and stands out from the crowd. Uniqueness is a gift everyone should embrace. The power to be existing as the only one or “without equal or like, to be unparalleled” (farlex, 2012) is something special. Lately the word swag has been used left and right, swag this, swag that, but really what is swag? Well according to Urban Dictionary swag is “The way in which you carry yourself. Swag is made up of your overall confidence, style, and demeanor. Swag can also be expanded to be the reputation of your overall swagger. You gain swag, or "Swag up", by performing swag worthy actions that improve this perception.” , so in basic terms swag is style, coolness, and confidence (internet slang 2002-2012) , but according to an online dictionary swag is “a suspended wreath, garland, drapery, or the like, fastened up at or near each end and hanging down in the middle;festoon.” (Rodger Elliot, 2012). Overall comparing the urban dictionary and regular dictionary definition, swag isn’t something that should exist outside the boundaries of the suspended wreath. What ever happened to ambition because personally the word swag has no meaning compared to ambition. To have ambition means to have an earnest desire for some type of achievement or distinction, as power, honor, fame, or wealth, and the willingness to strive for its attainment ( farlex , 2012). Quite frankly I’d rather have ambition then swag anyday.

Being the "fat kid" just got worse. Overweight children who get teased about the extra pudge become more dissatisfied with their bodies, a new study finds.
The result: These kids may be even less likely to pick up a sport or break a sweat in gym class. "There is some research that suggests that, for some kids, weight-related teasing is associated with lower levels of vigorous physical activity," said study researcher Timothy D. Nelson of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, adding that the reluctance to exercise may be due to fear of being made fun of during activities.(Jeanna Bryner, Overweight Kids' Body Image Takes Pounding From Bullies, 2012) Tuesday, May 15, 2012
What does it mean to be fat or obese? Fat means to have flabby tissue (Random House, Inc. 2012) obese means being EXCESSIVELY fat or fleshy (Random
House, Inc. 2012) this has a big role in girls who have insecurities.
They don’t think they’re too skinny enough for anyone especially
themselves. Like when they think they can’t wear shorts, nice dresses,
or even wearing a two piece bathing suit for the summer which isn’t fair
to them. Which hurts sadly because everyone is beautiful in their own
and every way. The one thing that they don’t ever have in mind is isn’t
better to be healthy then being full blown skinny? No and that’s the
problem, because that is the most important thing to be in life healthy.

Fashion and Style
Fashion and style, why do people like going to a school with uniforms? Sometimes, in my eyes i feel like people like going to a school with uniforms because they don't want people to make fun of what they wear. Sometimes students are bullied and tortured because of their outfits, but when you wear uniforms people don't care or even have a reasons to judge what you wear. so it makes people feel better and have nothing to worry about. sometimes when a kid doesn't feel comfortable with what they are wear, it usually means that dont have much self confidence ( an insecurity).
for example:
Aryana McPike, a sixth-grader from Springfield, Ill., has a closet full of designer clothes from Dolce & Gabbana, Juicy Couture, True Religion and Seven For All Mankind. But her wardrobe, was carefully selected by a fashion-conscious mother, hasn't won her friends at school.Fashion Bullies Attack -- In Middle School
Kids in her class recently instructed her that she was wearing the wrong brands. She should wear Apple Bottoms jeans by the rapper Nelly, they told her, and designer sneakers, such as Air Force 1 by Nike. She came home complaining to her mother that "all the girls want to know if I will ever come to school without being so dressed up."
